*Easton's Way - A Poem that sums up the reason for what we do.

PRIMARY MISSION

To help new Special Education parents AVOID THIS:

schooldaycare

And to:

  •  Provide vital information and support.
  •  Help parents understand Special Education issues.
  •  Equip parents to hold schools accountable for effective educational results.
  •  Advance the quality and delivery of Special Education services.

END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR IS HERE

With the end of the academic school year we, at SEPTO Network, want to wish you all a good, safe, and happy Summer Vacation... and a productive Extended School Year (ESY), if that is in your child's IEP.

PARENT SUPPORT MEETINGS

Monthly - Usually the last Wednesday. (See our Calendar)

Next Meeting:

Topic:     "READY OR NOT"

Date:     Wednesday, August 26, 2015

Time:              7 pm to 9 p.m.

Place:   Margaret Egan Center, 35 Matthews St, Milford, CT 06460

"READY OR NOT"

FACT:
Summer Vacation gives you 10 WEEKS to review the new annual IEP and get ready for the next academic school year.

Your Mission, should you decide to accept it...

Carefully go over your child's new IEP...

Goal by Goal... and... Objective by Objective

See if:

A) All the parts (pages and pages and pages) make sense and integrate well,

B) It is accurate in all regards,

C) It is appropriate for your child's advancement with regards to FAPE objectives.
- Think "S.M.A.R.T."  Goals and Objectives

(Hint: TAKE NOTES)

Action Plan
Let's make sure that you have an Action Plan for the first 6 weeks, to ensure the I.E.P. is working properly and that your child is making adequate and demonstrable progress.
No Progress = Baby Sitting.

Come prepared to ask your questions at our next meeting.

Please mark your calendars to join us at our next monthly meeting scheduled for the last Wednesday of August.
